Advertising club announces new name, winners at ADDY Awards event

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A regional advertising club has changed its name to AAF-Michiana from its previous name, MAC Michiana, to reflect a closer connection as a chapter of the American Advertising Federation. The organization's board of directors announced the name change at the recent ADDY Awards, which honored advertising creative excellence in the region.

More than 100 individuals in the local advertising, marketing, and media business attended this year awards event at Saint Mary's College. Professionals from 18 organizations submitted 93 entries to compete in the judging competition. Entries included television and radio commercials to brochures and billboards to packages and catalogues, just to name a few.

The ADDY Best of Show Broadcast went to Todd Allen Design with their "Encircles" television commercial for Goshen Health System. The ADDY Best of Show Print went to ARS Advertising for their Amana Kitchen Catalog for Whirlpool Corporation.

A number of local advertising agencies or creative professionals also earned an ADDY, judged on creativity, originality, and creative strategy.

Students from Ivy Tech Community College also competed at the awards in their own category. Dena Younkin won the Student Best of Show for the "Earthly Indulgences" mixed-media campaign.

Winners of the ADDY Awards are eligible to compete at the next level, and may qualify for the national awards, presented by the American Advertising Federation.

AAF-Michiana is a regional organization of advertising and marketing professionals interested in advancing the industry, supporting promising students, and serving the community. More information is available at www.aafmichiana.org.
