AAF Michiana Needs Your Help to Survive
I've been a member of the AAF Michiana board for nearly 20 years and it's with a heavy heart that I report without volunteer help we are going to have to shut down the AAF Michiana all together. The recession hit the club hard financially and as area marketers and agencies tightened their belts, everyone has had less and less time to volunteer and help run the club. That problem snowballed until we have only two active board members and frankly, the two of us just don't have to time and energy to run a club alone.
Should AAF Michiana close it's doors, we all lose. We lose a forum to meet and learn with area marketing communications professionals and we lose a local ADDY competition.
Should the Michiana ADDYs be cancelled, entrants in our area will be forced to enter the Grand Rapids, Fort Wayne or Indianapolis shows. And should you win (or just want to see the entries) you will have to travel to one of those cities.
What I (and the club) need now are a handful of volunteers, first to help coordinate this year's ADDYs and then to step up and become the new AAF Michiana board of directors.
If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact me at work 269-983-0611, on my cell 574-274-2066 or at mharlow@perryballard.com. I'll let you know what's involved and how you can help.
